The OSA Website
Open Studios Ayrshire (OSA) are a collective of Artists who run an annual event each year to invite the public to come and see their members’ work in their own studios or public exhibition spaces.
They already had a website email and domain which had been setup for them by a previous member, who had since left the group.
I was recommended to OSA by a member who knew I was starting out as a freelance web designer. After an interview with one of their leadership groups they decided to hire me to update their website for the coming year.
Their existing website was already built on WordPress and the premium theme Divi, but was looking a bit tired due to lack of maintenance since the previous admin had stopped.
In the first year I ensured everything was set up correctly, made minor updates to the website design, managed their membership process and setup the online side of their annual exhibition.
OSA were delighted and we agreed that I would continue as their web admin.
in 2021 I moved the OSA website and email server onto a better host, and made further iterative improvements to the web design.

- Self service content uploads for members (no technical experience necessary),
- Added a blog / news section
- Introduced bi-annual online exhibitions.
- Improved site loading times to less than 3 seconds for all pages
These changes were all achieved with a minimal budget and significantly improved the online presence of OSA.
